Seth Mann Rosenberg


Seth Mann Rosenberg is an Associate at Pugh, Jones & Johnson. He concentrates his practice in commercial litigation. He has significant experience representing businesses, real estate developers, financial institutions and government entities in all phases of litigation from pre-suit counseling through trial and appeal. Seth’s significant trial experience includes matters involving wrongful death, defamation, breach of employment contract, lease and title disputes, business torts and trade secret misappropriation.

Prior to joining PJJ, Seth worked as an Assistant General Counsel for Chicago Public Schools where he represented the Board of Education of the City of Chicago and its employees in litigation in a diverse range of areas including recovery of fraudulently obtained public funds, administrative proceedings brought by the City of Chicago and Illinois Department of Labor, whistleblower and retaliatory discharge, Freedom of Information Act and construction. In 2018, Seth won a Trial Lawyer Excellence Award from the Jury Verdict Reporter in recognition of a complete defense verdict on a defamation claim brought by a former CPS teacher against three CPS employees.  Seth began his legal career at a large national law firm where he practiced in the area of commercial litigation.


  • Won summary judgment and appeal on behalf of homeowner where invitee suffered catastrophic neck injury after diving head first into homeowner’s pool.
  • Secured directed verdict at the conclusion of jury trial on a commercial claim seeking in excess of $1 million dollars from national pizza manufacturer.
  • Won summary judgment on behalf of suburban school board in action by former superintendent alleging constitutional violations arising out of his termination.
  • Prevailed after two-week quiet title trial on behalf of client who purchased a commercial building where court adopted novel interpretation of an LLC’s manager’s authority to bind LLC in sales of real estate.
  • Significant experience in representing commercial landlords in lease disputes and municipal code matters.
